Mai Chau - Hoa Binh (3 days)

(Overview)

MaiChau is located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh. From the top of Cun Mountain, one can admire the superb panorama of Maichau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Many minorities, including the Thai ethnic group, live in Maichau. Mai Chau can be a base for some trekking tours to the villages around, this is with homestay overnight on the traditional houses of the H'Mong and the Thai. Worth a guided treking tour there. Tourists especially enjoy the minority specialty dishes including rice cooked in bamboo and grilled meat. They also enjoy watching traditional dancing, music performances (bronze, drums, gongs), and Thai minority singing and dancing. The remote minority villages are attractive sites for tourists.

Mai Chau	Hoa Binh

Day 1: Ha noi - Maichau (L, D)

8:00 AM: Hanoi tourism's car and guide picks you up at your hotel in Hanoi. Drive to Hoa Binh (about 2 hours). Short stop for break and coffee.

Drive on to Man Duc for lunch. Leave Man Duc to Muong, Mai Chau with few stops on the way for taking pictures.

Go around the valley before having dinner at a stilt house of Thai minority village.

Overnight in the village. Clean and comfortable matress, blanket and pillow are rovided.

Day 2: Maichau Trekking (B, L, D)

Whole day trek. 8:00 AM: Transfer by bus to Sam Khoe village, some 20 km further from Mai Chau. Start trekking through villages. Enjoy beautiful, peaceful scenery along the path. Picnic lunch en route. The trek takes about 6 hours to get back to Mai Chau with a lot of stops on the way.

Dinner and night in the village.

Day 3: Maichau - Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast then drive back to Hanoi. Tour ends at your hotel around 12:00. Village where you can do a short walk for 2 hours.
