The Delta’s Can Tho province sprawls westwards from the eponymous provincial capital along the southern bank of the Bassac (Hau) River — the larger of the two branches of the Mekong River. Bordered to the west by An Giang and Tien Giang provinces, to the south by Hau Giang and to the north, on the other side of the river, by Vinh Long and Dong Thap, Can Tho province is one of the most popular Delta destinations among travellers and tourists alike.

DAY 01: HANOI – HO CHI MINH CITY                                                                                         (D)

In the morning, Hanoi Tourism’s car and guide will meet you at your hotel. Then we will transfer to Noibai International Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival in Tan Son Nhat International Airport, we will move to our hotel for check-in registration.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Reunification Palace (formerly known as Independence Palace) – the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It is known as the famous historical witness which passed through the two fierce wars against the French and American colonists. The building now functions as a museum, where visitors can view the F5E fighter plane which bombed the palace on 8th April 1975 and tank 843 which led the final assault through the palace gate at 11.30 am on 30th April 1975.

After that, we will continue visiting some of the French-architectual-style buidings like: Sai Gon Notre-Dame Basilica, Sai Gon Central Post Office and Ho Chi Minh City Hall. Then you have free time for shopping at Ben Thanh Market, before we going back to the hotel.

DAY 02: HO CHI MINH CITY – CAN THO                                                                (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will depart Ho Chi Minh City, along the route of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai – Dong Khoi – Nguyen Hue – Le Loi – Nguyen Van Linh, and take a look at some of ourstanding architectual en route; including the Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Basilica, Ben Thanh market, Phu My Hung urban area, etc. Take the national route 1A, we will have a chance to pass My Thuan Bridge – the first and modernest cable-stayed bridge over the Mekong river.

Upon arrival in Can Tho, we will have a stop at My Khanh tourist garden and freely wander around the gardens of plum, mango, rambutan, jackfruit, durian … Other activities include listening to tradional folksongs named “don ca tai tu”, making rice paper – wine, and enjoying the local specialties.

In the afternoon, we will visit Binh Thuy Ancient House – a very beautiful residence imbued with features of the southern delta. The house following the French architectural style was constructed in 1870 by the Duong family, with five apartments and two roofs. Covering an area of 8,000 square meters, the house is not only attractive because of its design which combines Vietnamese and French architecture, but also due to its wonderful garden with various flowers and fruits. It hosts a wide range of orchids and a record cactus together with seven rocks symbolizing seven heroes.

In the evening, you can take a walk along Ninh Kieu Pier, or take a boat on Hau River and enjoy tranditional folksongs named “don ca tai tu”. After that, you will be taken to Tay Do night market or Cai Khe Trading Center, the places with the most exciting ngiht activities in Tay Do.

DAY 03: CAN THO – HO CHI MINH CITY – HANOI                                                   (B, L)

After breakfast and hotel check-out, we will proceed to visit Cai Rang Floating Market, located at about 6km from Can Tho City. This is the most famous and biggest floating market in the Mekong Delta. From the early morning, the waterway becomes a maze of hundreds of boats packed with fruits, vegetables, plants, foods, etc. Sellers hang a sample of what they have from the top of a long pole so that buyers can see from a distance what they are selling. We will also have a chance to visit the fruit orchards, rice noodle-making families and enjoy the pure atmosphere of Vietnam’s rural landscapes.

We will also be taken to Phu Sa Ecological Tourist Area to enjoy the exciting activities of southwest people, such as passing monkey bridge, visiting cork forest, river bathing, boat rowing, fishing, admiring Can Tho Suspension Bridge and relaxing in the river breeze.

In the afternoon, on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, we will stop at some fruit orchards such as Ba Dua, Kim Son, Vinh Kim, so you can buy the fruits from the orchards as travel present. We will also go through Rach Mieu Bridge – the newly completed building of Ben Tre.

Upon arrival in Tan Son Nhat International Airport, we will transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for departure flight, ending your unforgetable trip with Hanoi Tourism.
