NIGHT 01: HANOI – LAO CAI                                                                                                         

Hanoi Tourism’s guide will meet you at 8.30 pm at Hanoi Railway Station. You will enjoy your night train journey from the capital of Vietnam to Lao Cai Province. Lao Cai is one of the several provinces situated on the Sino-Vietnamese borderline. It is in the northwestern part of the country, with some remarkable features such as biologic diversification and typical mountainous climate. Apart from the Kinh people, the province has several ethnic minority groups including the H’mong, the Tay, the Dao and the Thai peoples.

DAY 01: SAPA – CAT CAT                                                                                           (B, L, D)

Arriving in Lao Cai Station in the early morning, we will transfer to Sapa via minibus. After that, we will leave the hotel and start a soft trek to Cat Cat Village of Black H’mong Tribe. Visiting Cat Cat Village, you will have an opportunity to admire a lively and colorful picture. Cat Cat residents are not only good at the brocade weaving craft, but  manipulating gold and silver jewelry. Their products are fairly sophisticated, especially jewelry for women. Beside the magnificient landscape, you can visit some local families to join with their traditional custom. We can also relax at the foot of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam.

In the afternoon, you will have free time for relaxing or discovering Sapa on your own.

DAY 02: SAPA – Y LINH HO – LAO CHAI – TA VAN – SAPA                              (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will start trekking uphill to Y Linh Ho and Muong Hoa through rice paddies and small hamlets to study life of hill tribes here. Y Linh Ho is a small commune composed by a dozen of small hamlets scattering on the very tough mountain terrain with high and steep mountains. There are some hundred inhabitants from the Black H’mong only living in this commune. Then we will visit Lao Chai Village and have cultural exchange activities with the locals there.

We will have picnic lunch carried by the tour guide, then continue trekking through villages and rice terraced fields to Ta Van Village settled by Dzay ethnic minorities. Ta Van is a small village set within a picturesque valley of Muong Hoa. Ta Van village is set within a picturesque valley with amazing natural landscape and friendly local people. The area is well-known for its colorful ethnic minorities. Visiting Ta Van Village will be an unforgettable experience, since you will have a chance to witness the special cultural characteristics of local people.

In the afternoon, we will return to Sapa, then take the bus to Lao Cai for dinner and the night train. We will arrive in Hanoi at around 5.30 am, ending your interesting journey with Hanoi Tourism.
